In this act I found myself deeply humbled and feeling instant compassion for everyone coming face to face with their mortality. It is a soul-trembling experience, no matter how “real” the threat may be at the moment. 

I’m trying to decide if I’d rather be admired, revered or worshiped.

Each has its own pros and cons. All of them preferred, of course, to admonishment, repulsion or abandonment. But if I could choose...

For most of my life, I’ve held the view that I am an honest man. And generally speaking, I feel pretty honest. By most social standards I probably am, but I’m not sure that bar is altogether too high.

Recently it has become blazingly clear to me the degree to which I have only been Impeccable-ish with my word…at best.
